I worked for a dealer that took on the German car known as the Goliath made by Borgward. They also made the Lloyd a smaller car than the Goliath. The Goliath which was a formidable competitor in the racing domain. The goliath had a 4 cyl air cooled flat opposed in the front wheel drive 2door which was the same size as vw.The Borgword outfit also made a copy of the vw van and we had one that needed a transmission and had a guy in the shop that put a trans from the small sedan into the van.It then had 3speeds in reverse &1speed forward.I felt sorry for him since he also took the trans out of the car.The borgward also made the upscale car known as Borgward When they went bellyup it ended up in a so.American country.
