You did the right thing. You didn't promise to hold it for the "picture guy" and he didn't promise to buy. Long distance sales can be difficult. If you want to buy something over the phone thats far away you must promise payment, but seller has to have some trust that payment will come. I bouhgt parts 8 hours away, but seller agreed to hold and I sent payment immediately. I tried to buy something over the phone once. It was exactly what I wanted by part number. Seller was on the road on his cell phone. I said I would wireor mail payment asap. He said "he doesn't play those games" and I would have to wait til he got home on Saturday and be the first to call then. Now, how can that work? Talk about a game.
