What works well when adding a square hitch to a truck frame is.....weld a length of 2" tubing(4 to 6'long) from the front end of the hitch tube on to a cross member using a 4 or 5" piece of 3/8" angle to the front end and bolt it to the cross member....bolt the angle on then weld the 2" tube on that way it is bolted soild and level, tube can be weiled at a angle.....result is a very strong hitch.....
