spent some time up north of you David, up around tobermorry and oben ,Here in Canada barstaff live mostly on the tips they get ,so when we went out for drinks I just expected to tip ,,well the bar staff never heard such a thing ,so all my tips went into the lifeboat fund bucket that would be sitting on the bar..
glad to see where my money went to !!and glad I didn't require their assistance while kayaking around the Hebredes
