With reference to the transmission output shaft are you refering to the output shaft that drives the PTO if you have it or one of the output shafts that goes to the axle differential? If you are referring to the output shaft that drives the PTO; it would run at at a constant speed at any given engine RPM regardless of what gear the transmission is in. Clarify what shaft you are speaking of and I will try to get the answer. Maybe someone else more knowlegeable here can help.
