Old...Sounds a lot worse than it really is. I've had two done, was awake both times, and it's no big deal. Don't make it worse by fretting about it. The second time, my wife, who's an RN, was in the room. The doc holds up the scope eyepiece and says, "Susie, come take a look at how nice and pink this intestine is." That was a treat, having my wife look "at me" like never before. But you feel great when you get a clean bill of health. And if there's a problem, you catch it early when it can be fixed.

So don't worry about it. You'll probably find you've had more discomfort scraping your knuckles or bashing a thumb, which you've done many times, working on your tractors.
