Use it up, and wear it out...

Make it do, or do without!" That's been our motto, and finally put it to good use. We have about a 15 acre field of old alfalfa that needs to be reseeded. The ground hadn't been plowed for probably 30 years, and needed it badly. Had an old trip beam JD plow (maybe a model 66?) that had sat buried in the fence row for at least 25 years. Tires rotted off, lays rusted through, hole wore in a moldboard,...just lucky it hadn't been picked up for scrap. Found some old tires and lays for it, patched up the moldboard. Gave it try, and I'll be darned, the ol' gal scoured up and actually laid that old root bound sod over. The old 4020D had it's ears pinned back, and just about had the drawbar clevis straightened out...but got the job done!
