Having the box about doubles the price of the toys. I have all the componets, but no box. Toys are easier to store than real tractors/implements, and the up-keep/repairs are a lot less. If you have limited money/storage and want a piece of your past farming history (remember the number of actual farmers is shrinking every year), sales literature or toys are an easier way to participate. Fortunately, I have been able to do all three. Old toy values have continued to increase, so it might not be such an bad investment. I bought 2-3 of each Ertl precision classic, which probably amounted to around 15-20K. A couple months ago, an avid toy collector told me they were worth more than 100K. I don't believe that number, but 50K might not be unreasonable.
