j d skid steer question

friend has a jd skid steer with v4 wisconson.problem is with the variable speed pully under seat that is controled by hyd lever.had seals replaced and new parts installed in pully,worked for a couple of days then leaking again.all this happend a year ago.yep he should have gone back to shop that did work,he didn't.what would cause it to blow oil again?is there a pressure reg on those controls?can it be set manually in just one position and disconnect the variable speed? repair was done at a jd dealer.
