brass carb indentity.

I have a brass down draft carb that was pat'd aug 31 1920. The part# is 0695 cast into the air intake elbow made out of pot metal or aluminum. 0691 cast into the carb body. It has a 2" float bowl and 11/4" opening on the carb base.Is there some way to trace the patent date without a number to determine original manufacture or application? I am unable to post a picture at this time. Daughter has the camera and off to college.
