A good modern oil, but not the latest. Look for something with API-SG,SH, SJ ratings. SM has less additive needed for flat cam followers. 10W-30 is good stuff, generally. 15W-40 have a good supply of the slip additive even in API-SM, but can be a bit thick for cold weather starts. The other additives of the modern oils will prevent bearing corrosion and so lengthen the life of the engine significantly. Gerald J.
