A C6 is the best auto tranny that Ford made, in my opinion, a good heavy Truck type tranny. Let it shift, that depends on a lot of things, you will just have to run it and see. I do hear a lot of them shifting from first to second, and then down shifting farther into the pull, sometimes the down shift causes loss of traction, so you will just have to try it and see what happens.
