I have a 95 sidekick with the 1.6 16 valve engine, i don't know if these are interferance engines or not but while you have the timing belt off it seems to me like it isn't hard to change the cam and crank seals, you might want to check it out. mine has 275,000+ miles on it. last december i blew a head gasket when the radiater cracked, heat just barely got into the red b4 it was shut off. good luck with yours.
