However, as I understand the Massey (which was developed by Fendt), this transmission uses a hydrostat to drive a fully powershift transmission. The whole thing is fully drive by wire. You want to go faster, push the joystick further ahead.... Quite a slick idea; gives infinitely variable speed from 0 to 50 kph. It's also supposed to be more efficient than a gear drive due to the fact that you can always find the most efficient speed to operate at. That's the theory anyway. I'd imagine that the Deere IVT works on a similar principle.
Personally, I think I'll stick to my dino gear drives.......
