IH Model A?

I just picked up my grandfathers IH Model A and I was trying to find out what year it is. I know you go by the serial #, but the serial # is 47550 and I can't find this anywhere. The tractor says F.A.A. 47550 and Model A. It also says 1540 rpm max idle speed. It was also made in Chicago. I know I sound completely tractor dumb, and when it comes to this one I am!! If you know what year my grandfather's tractor is, would you please let me know?
