Years ago, my dad was a lake superentendant and he had a bad time with people who thought their trucks were the badest ones in the county and they would try and climb a 90 foot tall earthen dam. After the third or forth time of driving a dump truck off the top of the dam and dumping dirt in the ruts (that will cause you to pucker up the first time you make the turn off the top). He came up with a clever idea. He put a set of the old wooden highway posts (6in dia 5 ft long) along the bottom of the dam with 1/2 in aircraft cable strung between them and hung "informational signs" on the cable. He also constructed "drainage ditches" just on the dam side of the cable(about 20 inched deep and 24 inches wide). Funny that this was just about the right size to trap a 15" truck tire and wheel. After the second or third time a vehicle got caught, towed and the driver cited, all of this silliness stoped. He also had problems with mailboxes beside the highway getting destroyed, but a dump truck rim poured full of concrete with drill stem pipe for the upright and a mail box made out of pipe casing solved that problem. One morning he found a broken baseball bat beside the mail box and another time, the box was moved about 6" and there was an Intl Scout about 1/2 mile down the road with a nice verticle crease throught the bumper, hood and radiator. End of problem. Ahhh brings back memories of the good old days.

Some of them only bring their noses down out of the air long enough to look down them anyway. If you are like me you are only doing this old tractor stuff because you enjoy it. You
