I have about 225 pairs right now, and typically I would just feed them, but I made contracts to deliver so much hay to certain customers. In a typical year I would have had plenty, but its unbelievably dry here. I dug up a water line that was 5' deep yesterday to install a hydrant and I never hit moisture. My dryland pastures never even grew this year. The price I got for the hay was really good so that helps some. I'm thinking I might just make it a permenant cut in the herd number and sell more hay on a yearly basis. Plus that means fewer cows to feed, calve, doctor, brand, etc. David
