at all of the auctions I have ever attended, an opening statement was given by the auction company informing the buyers that all equipment is sold as is, where is. Any other agreements are strictly between the seller and the buyer. Since you, as the seller, did not offer, or agree to, any kind of warranty, you are under no obligation to replace the starter.
