I had the same problem on my Hino truck. The straps got a little loose and from moving around in a little dirt wore through the rubber under the strap and caused pin holes. It was a big tank and I didn't want to take if off. It was on the top of the tank so I wire brushed it really clean and used JB weld. I didn't have a welder at the time but it worked great. Make sure there is no gas that would cause the JB weld not to stick and let the repair dry for a day. I used a little water on my finger to smooth it out just like you do with silicon. I got some thicker rubber to put underneath the straps. Hope this helps. Dave
