Deep, when I used to plow snow we just used a good 50-80# walk behind spreader. We used the ones with plastic wheels so we could put hex head self tapping screws in for traction on ice. Around 60-80 bucks for one of these. They where easy to load, just pull a bag of salt to the tailgate and cut it open and the salt just empties right into the spreader. pretty quick unless you have to salt a huge lot or a long road. VERY cost effective, much less than a commercial spreader and you don't have to climb up in the truck to reload the hopper. If you rinse them off after each use they'll last 2-3 years.
