You have two lines on your pump one is a pressure line and one is a return line. What I did is to disconnect the return line and hook up a rubber hose to the line coming from the steering sector have it going into a bucket. then hook up another rubber hose to the return port on the pump, run it up above the pump to a small tank, fill the tank with the oil ( hydraulic fluid) start your engine and work the steering untill the fluid runs clean. a helper is good to have to work the steering wheel while you watch the fluid. Don't let the pump run dry.
I used a small tank off of a small gas engine that I had, it was a clear plastic tank I could see the fluid level,I left the tank cap off so it would gravity feed and just kept filling the tank untill I got all the nasty stuff out. Mine was contaminated with water and some one had put atf in it. I put 134 hydraulic oil back in ,works fine. once you get it all flushed, change the filter in the resaviour hope this helps you thats how I did my ford 850. Jer
