I just bought a newer Dodge one ton a few months back. When I was looking this advice was given to me about the Dodges. The trucks before mid 90's didn't have turbos and lacked power and used more fuel. This was told to me by a Dodge/Cummins mechanic. I took his word for it but I can't say that I know it to be fact. Might be something you'll want to check out while looking. Good luck.
