They have been used for years in this area by dairy farmers for manure scraping on concrete slabs (only). They're preferable to regular steel blade because they don't rub the roughness off the concrete like steel will- dairymen want to keep the slab a little rough for footing for the cows. The concrete wears out the rubber "blade", rather than the blade wearing on the concrete. I don't think they would work well at all for other normal blade uses- there's no "dig" to them.
