Not sure if this would help, but I had a Ford 5000 diesel, that would start and die soon after. Always was a great runner. We changed the fuel filter and no difference. I found a few hairline cracks in the rubber fuel lines, and there was a bee wedged in the petcock that was blocking the fuel from going through the system. After changing the lines, and cleaning the petcock, there was no more problems. Took a while to figure it out. Good Luck.
