Now Whoa TV. I don't think William meant to step on your toes and I sure didn't neither. (Check grammar on that one) But I think what he was saying is that people in different parts of the country use different words to describe things and they are not always recognized by outsiders.
I worked for an old-timer for a while that always used the word "pack" where most of us would say "carry". Took a while to get used to. Now I find myself using it.
