8-N fishing?

hello all...recently i had the keeper clip to break on my 8-n's starter. the keeper, washer and spring ended up falling off and went who knows where? i assume i is resting at the bottom of the starter well (don't know the exact word to use here) and was wondering if i should try to "fish" them out with a flexible wire magnet? or, just live them be and hope they won't bother anything. if i should need to go "fishing" does anyone know the tricks of the trade on doing this? thanks for you time/help. charles rolla, mo.
