I have a 06 Duramax, It has been a good truck so far. I get about 18 - 20 MPG empty and about 13 towing a descent size trailer. If you can wait this long and afford it, the rumor is that GM is suppost to put the Duramax in the Sububurban in 08. I was open to buying any of the big three's truck. As some of the other have pointed out stay from the 6.0 ford's I know a few people with the 7.3's and they have had no issues. The 6.0's have had tons of issues. When I was buying my truck a few folks told me that Dodge was coming out with a "dual mass flywheel" in 06 and to stay away from getting a Dodge with a hand shaker. They said the pre - 06 Dodge's with the hand shaker ( they said the automatics were okay at best ) were pretty built proof. I personally bought the GM product because the motor has not had any real issues and there automatic transmission is the best in the business. I personally liked the interior of the Chevy better also. I tow only 6 - 10 times a year. If you plan on doing alot of towing I think a pre 06 Dodge with a hand shaker wins hands down. If you are looking to not shift gears and want some "creature comfort" the GM product is you best option. Scott

Some of them only bring their noses down out of the air long enough to look down them anyway. If you are like me you are only doing this old tractor stuff because you enjoy it. You
