I have never had a problem with my M being too light with a mower. I don't use a top link though, just a heavy chain so if I hit a low spot with the back tires the top link or the mower does'nt catch all the weight. If I am mowing flat land behind the house I don't even put the chain on, just hook up to the lift arms with anti-sway bars.
