Well I can't speak for the accuracy of the gossip here, but I've heard (at the local gas station in the morning over coffee) that much of the equipment at sales in my area are bought up by a local trucking company. The gossip states that if the paint looks okay and it goes for a decent price here, the truckers haul it down south and resell it, recouping all the costs and turning a handsome profit (sometimes double or triple the auction+trucking costs.) Names were mentioned of course, but they'd be useless here.
