Well, there are two thoughts on this subject. Some tractors are light up front and some are heavy. Some will say that if you are heavy on the nose, that you should use a longer drawbar in order to help balance the weight over the rear tires. Some tractors are light on the nose, and a shorter drawbar will help.
If you are pulling weighted classes, I would suggest setting up weight brackets like other guys and move the hitch as close to the rear axle as the rules will allow. Most put a bracket in the belly of the tractor, behind the rear axle and as far out in the front as the rules will allow. This way, in a weighted class, when you have moveable weight, you can put it where you need it.
