I've got a '74 3000 Ford diesel, had a '72 Ford 3000 gasser for 34 years, and have a '71 MF 150. Owned it since new The 250 was a further developement of the Ferguson F-40/MF 50/MF 150/MF 245 family. It uses the Perkins AD152-3 engine. It is probably the most fuel efficient engine of its kind. It runs virtually forever, and isn't straining to do what it does. (I've got my 150 turned up to 47 PTO HP. Been that way since 1975) It's still a fuel mizer. The 250 has all the things that made the 150 great plus a little more (wet brakes being one)

All in all, the 150 will hold its own against a 3000 and do it with less fuel. I'd say both are great small utility tractors.

The 3000 has a lot more going for it than a 2000. The 250 is a better tractor than a 150, PLUS it's newer.

I'd jump on the 250.
