As John said, there are other ways to zero in on the age of a Ford tractor. One way is to find date codes on various parts of the tractor. This photo shows the date code on the right rear axle of my 850. The G stands for July (G being the 7th letter of the alphabet). The 5 on the end means 1955. The 22 in the middle means the 22nd of the month, so this axle was cast on July 22, 1955. My other axle says G255 so it was cast 3 days later. Sometimes these codes are upside down.
