You might rent a rent a trailer to haul it in. It would be cheaper than buying one.What does the dealer want to come pick it up? that's also cheaper than buying a trailer and he can take all the liability for the transportation of the tractor.
It is aggravating to have to do some thing like this for something you bought brand new. You might try writing to the manuafacturerr and registering a complaint with them. It probably won't do much good but it'll make you feel better.
