I can tell you, I do make a concious effort to "speak" respecting this site's general tone. I have another website were profanity isn't common, but it's not unacceptable -- and ya can right in a much more vernacular manner. Pretty much akin to normal life -- I used to work with gentleman who was an evangelical pastor, and yep, I tried to watch my tounge in special defference to his sensitivity. Doesn't mean I never swore, but I wouldn't use a swear to make a point. I know in business meetings I've called executives on the carpet with "That's a nice load of Bull ____" -- but I also backed it up by a point-by-point disecetion of problems with their ideas. And it was a concious decision to start off that way to snap the room out the complacency that was there. And although I absolutely don't recall saying it, I've been told I dropped the F-bomb to the publisher in a meeting one day. *That* was just me dropping into a vernacular way of emphasizing a point without realizing I was doing it.
