If the toilet is that old, you should think about replacing it. The only 1.6 gal flush toilet that I know works good is the Sterling (bought out by Kohler) You might have to look around or go to their website to find one. I have installed 3 of them in our church and they work great and you can get a handicap one that is taller. (its easier for older people to get up from)
