I had a similar experience a couple years ago. I drive a '94 F-250 XLT Turbo Diesel, 4x4, extended cab, LWB, 5-speed. The truck has long since been paid for and I like it just fine it has 135,000 miles on it.
I stopped in my local Ford dealer and didn't bother to talk to a salesman just browsing by myself, to replace my truck with another of like kind (only difference was auto. trans.) the sticker price was well over 45K. NO WAAAAYYYY!!! I got back in my truck came up the road and decided it runs and drives real well.
