Some years ago my wife decided to clean up the road bank in front
of our house by burning the leaves that had accumulated there and
set the utility pole on fire. I happened to look out from the barn
and there she was emptying a fire extiguisher into it. She got it out
and the electric company never seemed to notice it was blackened.
Eventually they replaced it when it started leaning. I like to bring it
up once in a while.
