They are scattered all over now days it seems again and real adaptable to different climates. Here in TX panhandle on higher caprock elevation we can go from a winter day at 70 or more to a blizzard in minutes or hours and back to sunny again the next day. We went back to TX Longhorns and crosses from them because of the easier calving and less worries during calving season. A 100% calf crop was not uncommon in a Longhorn herd. Our biggest problem with them was they do need to be vaccinated regularly for other new diseases that can come into your area before or during calving. Had dairies bring in heifers and calves from way off and black birds and crows carrying diseases from those to our herd and really hurt us one calving season so be sure to use all the new vaccinations out there.
