ot ,,Track Hoe conversion to Hydro drive ????

I have an old Little Giant track hoe that i am making usable again . The bevel drive gears for the crawler drive are shot. Tried to find gears , thought about welding up etc. Light bulb clicked other night, why not switch it to hydraulic drive ? It has 2 17gpm pumps on it . There is a shaft where the gear to track drive goes. Why not mount a pump coupled to that shaft ? No idea what i need to make this work though. Not to worried about travel speed , as anything is better than what i have now . Forward , reverse , motor , control valve , supply and return lines / Any ideas or suggestions ?
