first good luck . do you know anyone in the area where farm is ? such as bankers or business people ? maybe you should talk to aunt and husband .if they know you have an interest they might be willing to work something out with you . i regret not tying to talk with my grand -dad without my dad around . grandpa had 200 acre dairy farm that he put the last renter off as renter did a poor job of farming . i have wondered if i had talked with grandpa if would have helped me out . he died when i was going to start senior year in high school dad was dead set against me farming . i think it was as he pretty much went broke farming .dad pretty much did all he could to stand in my way . maybe it for my best . by time i was old enough to stand up to dad it was to late to do anything with grandpa as he was gone . my grand mother sold farm within 6 months of grandpa passing i think dad had something to do with that . i don't know if iowa has a program to help someone start farming . i know wi does . maybe someone in county extension knows of something . to many places will not help anyone unless dad or someone already owns half a township
