My MF 231 has about 34 hp. and I pull a 6ft woods mower with no problem, in most areas,only problem is real thick wet grass. If I keep the blades sharp it will leave a good finish. With a larger mower you will need more hp, and more money for a larger tractor and 8ft mower. You will probably only gain 1 1/2-2 hrs with a 8 ft mower. Stan
