Personally I'd go with a bushhog for durability unless you want your pasture to look like a yard and I don't think you want it mowed that close do you? HP for an 8 footer would probably be around 40 - 45 & up. At 8 ft. you are likely thinking one on wheels and not a pickup. It would take a larger tractor to pick up a 3pt. 8ft. bushhog assuming they make them. I'm not sure. You can go to a website of a bushhog brand and it will show you rated gearbox hp needed.
