I would like to make a suggest to try to isolate your problem. That is, take two insulated jumper wires and connect one to the hot side of the battery and the other to the primary side of the coil. Leave the original coil wire connected during this test. Strip the unused ends of each jumper a couple of inched back and get ready to start the hot tractor. Go through your normal procedure of starting (gas, switch, clutch, etc.) but as you engage the starter connected the two jumper wires at the stripped ends. If the tractor cranks like it should; repost, and we will go from there. Do not leave the jumpers connected with the engine not running as it will burn the points.
