cat.1 vs. cat.2

My 4400 ind. is set up for category one: it has (interchangeable)
7/8 lower arm balls. The top link connection, however, is quite a
bit lower than the previous 800's I've owned. I ended up moving
the stay chains mower end to a set of lower holes to maintain a
better lifting angle. The tractor manual says it can be set up for cat.
1 or 2. I'm happy with it as is and want to put a quick hitch on it,
which is a bit of an investment. Should I get the quick hitch and
forget about it or are there advantages to a cat. 2 set-up I should
consider first?
