Take the steel plate off unless you can lift the shift lever off without doing that. To take the transmission cover off as was mentioned below involves removing the complete hydraulic unit, I would try my suggestion first. There are 2 springs under there that center the shifter handle. Take a flash light and look in there. The slots for the 3 rails will not line up. Take a small pry bar or big screw driver and pop the rail forward so that the slots line up. Questions find me on the Oliver or www/hpoca.org form. J.
