Our diesel price is around �1.03 ($1.56)a litre or �5.15 ($$7.80) a gallon. Costs me about �70.00 ($109.20) to fill my car.

A lot of this is tax. We pay a fuel tax and Value Added tax on the fuel tax.

Even with all the tax though, Royal Dutch Shell have just posted profits of �1.7 million per HOUR. Thats $265,200,000, according to my calculator per HOUR. The best profits the company has made for years.

Wonder why our government won't support alternative energy sources from oil seeds and sugarbeet.
