Long derned Night!

Whew! Been dodgin" timber fires since 3 this afternoon. Darned thing is just over the ridge to the east, we"ve lost all power and I"m on the generator and a laptop on the phone line. Guess all the neighbors around us have left "cause the highway patrol told "em to get out. I"m going to stay here and up all night and keep an eye that bugger. So far, it is staying on the other side of the ridge. If the wind switches, we"re in trouble. Biggest darned mess I"ve ever seen and it"s burned all the way into town, a distance of 10 miles. Last I heard, they were evacuating the town too. Many, many homes lost already, I"m sure. Allan
