OT: 2+ inches of rain last night, BUT...

We received another nice soaking last night, but this one came with a serious price: 
Every bit of the sweet corn was flattened. It looks as if it's trying to upright itself this morning, but if not it will end up cattle feed. The tomato cages were also knocked over. The sweet corn was only a week or two away from being ready. The only thing that stayed up was the pole bean fencing. It must be stronger than I thought! All in all, though, I can't complain. We've had more than enough rain this year, and the pastures are full of grass. I guess I'll just consider the sweet corn a sacrifice demanded by the farming gods.
