730-LP,One other point that dove tails into 504-1 post, Those who have HD 4x4 pickup with Manuel hubs. Know this trick.....Leave your Hubs in the "Free" position, then put the Transfer case into "Low" Then you can get out of tough pulling situations with releative pulling ease. On the high side of transfer case the ratio is usually 1:1 , on the Low side it is usually 2:1 so you effectivly double the rearend ratio so to speak by useing the low side. The MPH will top out at about 40/45. So in mountainous situations you still have power, and you can pull a load without melting down a tranny, or burning up a clutch. I have used this technique many times and will work very well, just do not over rev the engine. Hope this helps, Good Luck. Later, John A.
