No, There was Coppercoat on the head gasket when I took it off and now red RTV on the pan gasket. Bearings are plumb okay and have already been replaced. Original manufactures don't use any sealer of any kind, which means somebody has been in this engine ahead of me and it means that I don't have to rebuild the bottom end. Gassers are due for a rebuild about every 5,000 hours and the bottom end is always the weak point on a slow speed engine. Especially so, if you do a valve job on top. That new "extra" compression will knock an "iffy" set of bearings in the dirt in very short order. I was really worried about it because this is a combine engine and thought that it was probably just about due. However, I lucked out 'cause someone has already saved me the trouble. Allan
